Since the Oath League has started I've had to clean up and restock my paint supply and it got me thinking. What are peoples favorite paints to work with, color, or mixtures. Share your favorites. SHARE THEM.
I love P3 Exile Blue and Molten Bronze. I think every model I end up painting has at least one or both of these colors on them, and their the star two paints in my Skorne army theme.
Runners up are Citadels Carroburg Crimson shade, which I need some more practice with, but I'm liking the red shading it gives my KAY-DOR, and my Reaper mixture for brass patina which is a 3/2/2 of Jade Green/Marine Teal/Water. Wash that over your brass to give it that nice aged look.

I mainly use Citadel paints, and I swear by Ogryn Flesh (I think it's Reikland Fleshshade now?) for washing my metallics down. I can't describe it, but I love the way it shades the metallics and highlights them.

Exile Blue is an old fav of mine, but for my ULTIMATE favorite I have to go with Skorne Red. My Menites use it to simulate the blood of heretics.

Was really a fan of the GW foundation paints, i think they are called layers now. Used tons of the red and yellow ones. Also have a reservoir of chestnut ink that was discontinued years ago that is the best stuff ever!

I am a huge user of Vallejo Game & Model color lines, the entire P3 paint line, and certain Games Workshop brand products like washes, inks, and pigments. I also frequent Army Painter, Didi's, oil paints, and other pigments for certain effects. I have yet to dive into airbrushing, masking techniques, and alcohol based paints. Very interested to try new things.
My favorite color used to be Vallejo's Game color Shadow Grey. Something about the coverage, two-tone grey-blue and smoothness of the paint made me want to use it on everything for a while. Now I think that P3's Bloodstone has won my heart. It's a great undertoned, earthy flavor for shading, tinting, and basing many other colors while not being overpowering like shading down with black does. I think I've used it in almost every project in the last year save my Retribution... yet. ;-)
Otherwise I'm a huge fan of Sepia Tone washes, Chestnut Ink (P3 has a close match in their Brown Ink fyi), and Warlock Purple->Tentacle Pink style blends. As much as I trend towards earth-tones and muted pallets there is always something to be admired by brilliant, vibrant colors that just kick you in the teeth from table-top view.

I do believe my favorite paint/combo is GW's Ushabti Bone with Agrax Earthshade wash. Perfect old bone color in my opinion. P3's Menoth White Base does pretty much the same thing, but the GW was my original, and still my favorite.
I also happen to use a lot of Pig Iron and Blood Red (P3 and GW, respectively). They are both versatile and seem to vary a ton based on... well... the base! The layered colors make a huge different, even to a guy that has trouble discerning colors! (I'm slightly color-stupid... not quite color blind.)
